- Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs)
- Nurse Practitioners (NPs)
- Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs)
By offering financial assistance, the program helps alleviate the financial strain associated with unpaid clinical placements, which are often required for these advanced roles. Additionally, it promotes professional growth and retention of skilled nurses within the Maranoa region.
Program Objectives
The primary goals of the Maranoa Nursing Advancement Bursary Program are to:
- Provide financial relief to nurses pursuing advanced specialisations.

Bursary Details
- Number of Bursaries: Up to three bursaries will be awarded.
- Value: Each bursary is valued at $10,000.
- Allocation: Bursaries will be awarded in any combination of midwifery (CNMs), nurse practitioner (NPs), and clinical nurse specialist (CNSs) applicants, based on recommendations from the selection panel.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the bursary, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a resident of the Maranoa Local Government Area in Queensland, Australia.
- Be enrolled in an accredited nursing program specialising in midwifery, nurse practitioner, or clinical nurse specialist studies.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the nursing profession and a clear motivation to pursue a career in advanced nursing roles.
- Show evidence of financial need, which will be considered during the application process.
