Bark in the Park

Have a woofing-great time and celebrate being a dog owner at Council’s inaugural Bark in the Park event.
To be held at the Roma Off-Leash Dog Park on 20 September, this event is designed to provide an opportunity to share your ideas for the Roma Off-Leash Dog Park upgrade and to promote responsible pet ownership in the Maranoa.
As part of the 2025/26 Budget, $50,000 has been allocated towards upgrades for the Roma Off-Leash Dog Park.
Spokesperson for Community Safety, Cr Amber Davis, said the upgrades to the Roma Off-Leash Dog Park came as result of constructive community feedback.
“Council has heard loud and clear from the community that the Roma Off-Leash Dog Park needs upgrades to be more user-friendly,” Cr Davis said.
“Council encourages all dog owners to come along to Bark in the Park to give us your feedback on where the $50,000 should go towards while enjoying a day out with your pooch.”
On the day there will be stallholders, Lions Club of Roma sausage sizzle, coffee van, giveaways, and a variety of competitions including:
- Best Dressed
- Smallest Dog
- Biggest Dog
- Coolest Trick
- Romas most spoiled dog
Maranoa Regional Council is proud to collaborate with local businesses to make this event a big success including Roma Vets, Town and Farm, Lions Club Roma, and Roma Pet World.
“We are excited to partner with local businesses and organisations to make this event a massive success.”
“Come along to this inaugural event and come together with other dog owners for a great day of fun filled with events and competitions to get your four-legged friend’s tail wagging.”
Council has $50,000 in this year’s budget for upgrades, and your feedback will help decide how that money is best spent.
