A dashing reminder for world peace

It was a morning of solidarity today, Friday 25 July, as the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run team gathered with the Mayor at the Big Rig.
The peace relay team presented Mayor Wendy Taylor with a Peace Torch, symbolising the global longing for world peace.
Mayor Wendy Taylor expressed her gratitude before the Peace Team took on their next stretch.
“This incredible event, now in its third visit to Australia, is a testament to the enduring power of peace, goodwill and unity,” Mayor Taylor said.
“Your efforts remind us that peace is much more than a word, it’s action, progress, and a collective commitment to a kinder, more compassionate world.”
“It is an honour for Roma to be a small but meaningful part of this global journey that connects communities across every continent.”
Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run Co-ordinator for Queensland, Amalendu Edelsten said spreading the worlds longing for peace was big on their hearts.
“Oneness-home indicates that we are all one world family, we are all citizens of the world and should be able to live peacefully together,” Amalendu said.
“Peace starts in the hearts of every person and spreads from there.”
“Everyone can take a step for peace; everyone has the capacity to do something nicer for their neighbour or family. It doesn’t have to be big things, it can be the small things of being more considerate of each other, respecting each other and embracing our differences.”
The Peace team who came through Injune into Roma last night, Thursday 24 July, will now embark on their next stretch to Miles.
