Maranoa Regional Council is excited to announce that construction of the much-anticipated Yuleba Water Play Park has officially commenced this week.

The works mark a significant milestone in the Yuleba CBD Liveability Upgrade project.

Funded under the Council / Origin APLNG Workers Transition Agreement, the Yuleba Water Play Park is part of a broader initiative to enhance youth and recreational spaces in the region.

It joins other improvements such as the redevelopment of the skatepark and playground, with the aim of creating inclusive, family-friendly areas that foster community wellbeing.

Maranoa Regional Council Deputy Mayor Cameron O’Neil, Portfolio Chair for Major Projects said the water play park was one of the most requested features identified through community consultation and master planning.

“The Yuleba community made it clear this project was a top priority, and we’re proud to see it now progressing from plans to reality,” Cr O’Neil said.

“Once complete, the park will offer a safe and engaging water-based recreation area for local families and visitors, especially during the warmer months.”

The project is being delivered by Beau Corp Projects Pty Ltd, with construction expected to take approximately three months, with the new facility anticipated to open in August 2025.

“We thank the Yuleba community for their continued patience and input,” Cr O’Neil said.

“This project is a testament to what we can achieve together, and we’re looking forward to delivering a space that will be enjoyed for generations.”
