Bitumen Resealing Program

Back
Public Notice

Residents are advised that bitumen resealing works across the Maranoa will commence from Monday 15 April, 2023.

The program of works will see sections of sealed (bitumen) roads receive a new coat of bitumen in selected rural and urban areas.

Bitumen resealing is a critical step in maintaining Council’s current bitumen road network. It reduces the maintenance costs of these roads and extends their overall life.

Work will be planned to keep disruptions on roads to a minimum during this period, however residents can expect short delays when sections of road are reduced to one lane or closed for up to 15 minutes if required.

Works will generally take place Monday – Sunday in rural areas, whilst in urban areas work will be limited to Monday – Saturday.

Traffic management will be in place for the safety of both workers and road users. Council asks that you please follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs during this period.

Letterbox drops will be completed in urban areas in advance to advise those residents where and when bitumen resealing works will occur.

Council appreciates your patience while the works are underway.

For more information about the project, please contact Council on 1300 007 662.
