Merry Christmas to our customers! We're wrapping things up for Christmas. Check out a list of opening hours for our main office, waste facility, visitor information and more.

Office closures

Over the break, our main office will be closed from Friday 22 December and reopen Tuesday 2 January.

Our Yuleba office will be closed Monday 25 December, Tuesday 26 December and Monday 1 January 2024.

⁠For any emergencies during this shut down period please call 1300 007 662 and follow the prompts.

Waste Facility

Maranoa Regional council wishes to inform the Maranoa community that our Roma waste facility will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Bins will be placed at the front of the facility for smaller domestic loads during these two public holidays. We ask residents to plan their trip and to bring any larger bulky items on days that the facility is open.

The site will operate normal hours for the remainder of the Christmas/New Year period.

All other waste facilities across the Maranoa region will be accessible per current opening hours that can be found at www.maranoa.qld.gov.au/waste

The Big Rig & Roma Visitor Information Centre

• The last Big Rig Night Show Sunset Experience for this year be held on Friday 22 December 2023 at 6.30pm. The first Night Show Sunset Experience for 2024 will be Wednesday 3 January 2024 at 6.30pm.
• The Roma Visitor Information Centre, and The Big Rig will be closed Sunday 24 December Christmas Eve, Christmas Day 25 December, Boxing Day 26 December 2023 and New Years Day 1 January 2024.
• The Roma Visitor Information Centre, and The Big Rig will be opened on Saturday 23 December, Wednesday 27 December, Thursday 28 December, Friday 29 December, Saturday 30 December and Sunday 31 December between 9am – 1pm.
• Entrance into The Big Rig Oil Patch Museum & Tower and Treewalk for all visitors is a local rate of $5 per person, (from Wednesday 27 to Sunday 31 December 2023).
