Council would like to advise residents of a wildfire within the region that may impact Mt Moffatt section of Carnarvon National Park.

The Mt Moffatt section of Carnarvon National Park is closed until further notice due to wildfire.

At this stage, both Carnarvon Gorge and Mt Moffatt sections are closed until Friday 20 October – The situation will be reviewed, and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will attempt to open the park as soon as they can.

The park closure includes the day-use area, the visitor information centre, the Big Bend camping area, the day-use area, Top Moffatt and West Branch camping area and all roads and walking tracks within the park.
