Community grants round 2

Community and not-for-profit groups are invited to apply for financial assistance to help fund their next activity, project or event.

Community and not-for-profit groups are invited to apply for financial assistance to help fund their next activity, project or event as Round 1 of the 2023/24 SENEX and Maranoa Regional Council’s Community Grants Program opens on Tuesday, 1 August 2023.

Council supports non-for-profit organisations with funding for community-based projects under its grants program partnered with Senex Energy.

The partnership has created a Small Grants category under Council’s Community Grants Program, enabling community groups to apply for grants from $500 to $3,000.

These funds will be distributed from an annual pool of $30,000 provided equally by Council and Senex. The Community Grant categories are:
• Small Grant (co-funded by Senex Energy) – $500 - $3,000
• Community Grant – $3,001 - $10,000.
• Major Grant – $10,001 - $20,000.

Council recognises the importance of community groups and the valuable contribution they make to the enhancement, enrichment, and liveability of communities in the Maranoa. Council is committed to supporting groups by providing grants for one-off projects in the following categories: Community Development, Culture and Heritage, Environment, Community Events, Sport and Recreation and Economic Development.

Mayor Tyson Golder said Community Grants give Maranoa community groups a helping hand for their projects, events, and upgrades.

“The Community grants Program which are in partnership with Senex are the perfect opportunity to support the growth and success of our local community and not-for-profit groups, these groups play a vital role in the Maranoa region.
“Community grants have delivered some fantastic results in the past and I look forward to seeing the outcome on this round,” said Cr Golder.

Senex Community Relations Manager Trevor Robertson said Senex was proud to have partnered with Maranoa Regional Council since 2019 to support projects of local organisations through the joint Small Community Grants program.

“With Senex’s support these grants have funded local clubs, organisations and associations to improve facilities and host events,” Mr Robertson said.

“Partnering with Maranoa Council allows Senex to directly support the community it lives, works and operates in. These grants make a big difference and have a very real and direct impact by making our community just that little bit better.”
