Maranoa Regional Council and Senex Energy have partnered to provide $34,000 of community grants as part of Maranoa's Regional Council's Grants Funding Program Round 2 for 2022/23.

The grant recipients are as diverse and wide-ranging as the community itself, with larger grants issued for Injune & District Men’s Shed, South West Drag Association and Booringa Action Group, and over a dozen smaller grant recipients receiving much-needed funds.

Mayor Tyson Golder congratulated all community groups successful in this round of Community Grants.

“These are all great projects that will provide many ongoing benefits for our Maranoa residents,” Cr Golder said. Senex Energy has partnered with Maranoa Regional Council since 2019 to assist with projects of local organisations through the joint Small Community Grants program.

Senex Community Relations Manager Trevor Robertson said Senex was proud to support the grants program and had seen over the years how the funding helped local clubs, organisations and associations improve facilities and host events.

“Partnering with Maranoa Council allows Senex to directly support the community it lives, works and operates in. These grants make a big difference and have a very real and direct impact by making our community just that little bit better,” Mr Robertson said.

Mayor Golder said these grants were a way to improving the wellbeing of the community.

“I highly encourage all community groups to apply for these grants,” he said.
