Public notice presribed burn plan

Maranoa Regional Council wishes to advise residents in the town of Mitchell that Queensland Fire & Emergency Services will be conducting planned burns in the region.

The planned burns are scheduled to start from Saturday, 27 May and are likely to continue throughout the entire weekend.

These fire mitigation measures will allow excess fuel loads to be burnt off in preparation for the summer months later this year.

It is recommended that windows and doors are kept closed during this time and those who may suffer from a respiratory condition should keep their medication close by.

Council would like to thank residents in advance for their cooperation and apologises for any inconveniences this may cause.
