Festival of small halls 2023

Maranoa Regional Council is calling on local communities to submit their interest in hosting the Festival of Small Halls, for one night in their local hall, between 27 September to 26 October 2023.

The Festival of Small Halls is a series of tours that take the best folk and contemporary acoustic artists and send them on the road to tiny halls in communities around Australia.

Maranoa Regional Council Mayor Tyson Golder said the community is all about helping one another and encourages interested parties to jump onboard.

“Anyone who considers putting their hand up in hosting the Festival of Small Halls, is doing a tremendous service to their local community,” said Cr Golder.

The successful community will be required to work with touring group, Woodfordia, with marketing material, ticket sales, decorating and cleaning up of the hall and securing an MC for the night.

This opportunity may see a local community benefit financially from the Festival of Small Halls, receiving 50 per cent of the profits from ticket sales and additional profit from the sale of food and drink on the night.

“Any group who believes in the benefit of having a night of live music at one of our small halls while also having the chance to fundraise for their local community group, should give this great opportunity a go,” said Cr Golder.

Interested parties will be required to submit a form by Monday, 5 June 2023. To download the form, please visit: Expression of Interest – Maranoa Regional Council
