Aplng liveability grants round 2

Grants of up to $25,000 are available for not-for-profit organisations and groups within the Maranoa region with the aim of improving the quality of life for residents.

In partnership with Australia Pacific Liquefied Natural Gas (APLNG), Maranoa Regional Council is opening Round 2 of funding of the APLNG Liveability Grants on 15 May 2023 with the intention the successful grants will support projects, activities and events that enrich the life of Maranoa residents.

Mayor Tyson Golder said it was open to a wide range of non-profits and encouraged everyone to apply. “I encourage organisations to apply for Round 2 if they have a great event or initiative in mind.”

Applicants can apply for grants up to $25,000 with amounts between $10,001 - $25,000 requiring a 20-percent cash or in-kind co-contribution. Funding amounts under $10,000 requires no co-contribution.

Mayor Golder said he was personally grateful for APLNG’s financial input and ongoing support, saying they are staunch supporters of the Maranoa. “I would like to personally thank Origin for their contribution to the Liveability Grants. Council received an overwhelming number of applications with several great opportunities to enhance economic development, natural resource stewardship and regional growth within our region,” Cr Golder said.

Aleta Nicoll, General Manager Asset West, Origin Energy, said Origin Energy was happy to support the region and expected to see some exciting initiative arise from the grants.

“Origin is proud to be an active member of the Maranoa region and partner with council to support the APLNG Liveability Grants. We look forward to seeing the successful projects, activities, and events these grants support enhance and improve the lives of residents and visitors alike," said Aleta Nicoll.
