Big Rig carpark - Concrete drain works

Maranoa Regional Council would like to advise local residents and tourists that concrete drain works are scheduled to commence in the Big Rig (Roma) carpark in the week of Monday, 30 January 2023.

The works, which are scheduled to take 2-4 weeks, will see a concrete drain installed into the carpark, in the section of carpark closest to Riggers Rd bridge. These works are being completed to improve drainage in the carpark.

To accommodate the works, there will be a work zone between the Riggers Rd bridge and northern-most speed bump. Access to the parking area immediately in front of the playground will be maintained unless fresh concrete has just been poured, and this area will still be available for towing vehicles to turn around if they are too heavy to exit via the bridge. There will be no disruptions to any of the amenities or components of the Big Rig itself.

Council will be in contact with Big Rig staff and businesses and work closely with them to minimise impacts of the works.
