Council and APLNG bringing the Christmas spirit with over $122,000 of funding for community projects!

Maranoa Regional Council is pleased to announce their funding support for over $122,000 of community projects under its new MRC/APLNG Liveability Round.

This is the first round for this financial year with another round commencing later in the year.

Mayor Tyson Golder said on behalf of Council he would like to congratulate all the successful applicants who have received funding under this inaugural liveability round.

“We look forward to the local stimulus this will bring as these organisations complete their projects over the coming year,” said Cr Golder.

APLNG Spokesperson Dave Atkins agreed expressing the there is no better time than making this money available to these groups than at Christmas!

“We are excited to see the impact these projects will make to living and working in the Maranoa and our staff and families will really appreciate the wide range of activities that this will bring to the New Year,” said Atkins.

Eight projects were funded through the new community grant round. The successful projects include:

PCYC
Project: Moveable Fans - $3,600

Roma Polocrosse Club
Project: New Playground - $6,975.86

Injune Kindergarten Association
Project: Foundation Refurbishment - $12,000

Bendemere Pony Club
Project: Turn on the lights - $13,793

Roma & District Cricket Association
Project: Mower Upgrade - $17,600

Roma Bush Gardens
Project: Amphitheatre Development - $20,000

Surat & District Development Association
Project: Surat Multipurpose Courts Equipment - $24,016

Noonga Community Association
Project: Ablution Block Installation - $25,000

These projects will commence in 2023.
