Bitumen reseal program moves to Mitchell town streets

Council would like to advise residents that bitumen resealing works will take place on a number of streets in Mitchell on Saturday, 8 January 2022.

The streets affected include Alice, Harrow, Winchester, Rugby, Isabella and Sophie Streets, as well as the Industrial Estate Road.

The program will see sections on Alice, Harrow, Winchester, Rugby, Isabella, and Sophie Streets, as well as the Industrial Estate Road, receive a new coat of bitumen.

Bitumen resealing is a critical step in maintaining Council’s current bitumen road network.  It reduces the maintenance costs of these roads and extends their overall life.

Work will be planned to keep disruptions on roads to a minimum during this period, however residents can expect short delays when sections of road are reduced to one lane or when detours of the worksite are in place.

Traffic management will be in place for the safety of both the workers and road users. Council asks that you please follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs during this period.

A letterbox drops will be completed in advance to advise those residents where bitumen sealing works will specifically occur.
