Volunteer Week 2024

Council Celebrates National Volunteer Week 2024: ‘Something for Everyone’

National Volunteer Week 2024 is upon us, and this year’s theme, ‘Something for Everyone’, celebrates the diverse passions and talents that each individual brings to the noble act of volunteering.

From 19-26 May, we invite the community to join us in recognising the invaluable contributions volunteers make to our community while sharing the many opportunities that are available to make a difference.

National Volunteer Week 2024 serves as a platform to acknowledge the incredible diversity within our volunteer community. It’s a reminder that regardless of background or interest, there is a place for everyone in the world of volunteering.

Mayor Wendy Taylor, herself a keen volunteer, expressed her gratitude to the community volunteers who donate their time and energy to making a positive contribution to our region.

“Our volunteers are the backbone of our community, and their selfless efforts truly make a difference in the lives of others. We are immensely grateful for their unwavering commitment and passion.”

“I would encourage everyone to look at how they can get involved in volunteering. Whatever your interests, there is the opportunity to find something that will be as rewarding for you as it is beneficial for the community.”

Events will take place across the region throughout National Volunteer Week to celebrate the impact of our volunteers. These events provide platforms for volunteers to share their experiences, connect with others, and inspire event more individuals to get involved.
