The Maranoa region is serviced by Roma Airport, which is located seven kilometres from the town centre of Roma. The airport accommodates daily passenger services to and from Roma, connecting to Brisbane and Charleville, as well as St George.
Roma Airport can be accessed from Carnavon Highway (the first entrance on the left if travelling from Roma).
Roma Airport underwent a $14 million upgrade, with the new facility commencing operations in April 2012. The upgrade was supported by the state government and energy sector organisations Santos GLNG and Australia Pacific LNG, with contributions of $4.7 million, $2.5 million and $1 million, respectively.
The project included construction of a new AT Berry Terminal building, 274 space car park with security lighting, stronger runway and taxiway and improved apron to accommodate larger aircraft.
For short term drop off and collection of passengers, be sure to follow the signs to the ‘drop off' zone near the terminal entrance.
If a longer stay is required, please drive into the parking area. The first hour of parking in this zone is free, with a fee of $2 each hour afterwards, or a maximum $10 a day applying to all car park users.
Aviation fuel is available from AirBP.
