School Holidays
Keep an eye on this webpage and on our socials for Council's Summer and Winter School Holiday programs set to help everyone get the most out of their 'schools-out' time.
In 2026, Queensland school term dates and holidays are:
- Term 1: 27 January - 2 April accompanied by a two-week holiday from 3 - 19 April
- Term 2: 20 April - 26 June accompanied by a two-week holiday from 27 June - 12 July
- Term 3: 13 July - 18 September accompanied by a two-week holiday from 19 September - 5 October
- Term 4: 6 October - 11 December accompanied by a six-week holiday from 12 December - 26 January.
Please note that some schools extend their school holidays.

2026 Winter School Holidays wrap-up
Maranoa Regional Council’s 2026 Winter School Holiday program was another big hit as kids across the region made some great, lifelong memories with a whole range of activities.
From robot-making, painting, spa days, sports, cooking and more, there was something on offer for everyone.
Councillor John Birkett, Portfolio for Youth said it was great to see kids get involved in what Council has to offer.
“Providing many opportunities and showing kids how to enjoy their school holidays in the comfort of the Maranoa is vital to ensure our region remains a place where families are proud to call home where they live, work and play,” Cr Birkett said.
