School Holidays

Keep an eye on this webpage and on our socials for Council's Summer and Winter School Holiday programs set to help everyone get the most out of their 'schools-out' time.

In 2026, Queensland school term dates and holidays are:

• Term 1: 27 January - 2 April accompanied by a two-week holiday from 3 - 19 April
• Term 2: 20 April - 26 June accompanied by a two-week holiday from 27 June - 12 July
• Term 3: 13 July - 18 September accompanied by a two-week holiday from 19 September - 5 October
• Term 4: 6 October - 11 December accompanied by a six-week holiday from 12 December - 26 January. 

Please note that some schools extend their school holidays.

2026 September School Holidays Program

Council is excited to release the September School Holiday Program, with many activities across the Maranoa available to children of all ages!

African drumming workshops, movie viewings, arts and crafts and photography and clay workshops are some of the many activities that make up the program which kicks off on Monday, 21 September and concludes on Friday, 2 October.
