Community and Councillors talk annual budget

The Maranoa Regional Councillors had the opportunity to meet with residents to discuss all things related to the 2026–27 budget at the recent Councillor Out and About sessions, held over four days from 29 August to 3 September 2026.

These catch-ups gave residents the chance to connect with their councillors, discuss the 2026–27 budget, ask questions, and raise any concerns they may have.

Mayor of Maranoa Regional Council Wendy Taylor said these community catchups are part of Council’s commitment to being open and transparent with residents, to listen to what they have to say and report back to the Maranoa.

“Following the adoption of the 2026/27 budget, these out and abouts were a great chance to sit down with our community, share how we took their feedback from the pre-budget forums onboard and share the exciting projects Council has planned over the next 12 months,” Mayor Taylor said. 

“It was great to see a good rollup over the few days. Whether it was one person or 10 that attended, it was great to catchup with our residents and hear from them the feedback and enquiries from our Maranoa communities.

“We encourage attendees to continue keeping in touch and talking with their local councillors, whether it’s through giving us a call, logging a Customer Request through our friendly Customer Service teams, or attending Council Meetings that occur twice a month.”
