Maranoa Regional Council is thrilled to share some exciting news that is sure to get your dog’s tail wagging - the Bark in the Park event will be returning this year, set to be held on Saturday, 3 October.

Bringing together our furry friends and owners, Bark in the Park will celebrate the recent upgrades to the Roma Dog Park, which were finalised in July of this year.

Councillor Amber Davis, Portfolio for Community Safety, looks forward to a pawsome day out.

“Council is pleased to be bringing back Bark in the Park following its successful inaugural event in 2025.

“The feedback we collected from pet owners at the 2025 event provided the guidance we needed from our community to make the much-needed upgrades to the facility, making it a space our dogs to exercise, play and get outdoors in an off-leash environment.”

With exciting plans in the works, this year’s gathering will build upon the fun times of last year’s event, which featured stalls from local businesses and a variety of competitions.

In a first for the event, the star of ABC’s ‘Muster Dogs’ program and agricultural influencer Renee Spencer (@Brownhatttt) will be doing an exciting working dog demonstration for attendees, highlighting the skills of our four-legged friends.

“Bark in the Park is fantastic event, not just for your pets, but for owners too – with stalls for both pets and owners, competitions and Renee’s informative working dog demonstration all in store,” said Cr Davis.
