Roma Dog Park upgrades get tails wagging at Bark in the Park
Published on 07 October 2026
Recent upgrades to the Roma Dog Park are giving local dogs and their owners an improved space to exercise, play and enjoy time together.
Delivered in response to community feedback, the upgrades include new turf, irrigation and agility equipment, enhancing the park and providing a dedicated space for dogs to run, play and socialise.
The improvements were showcased at Maranoa Regional Council’s annual Bark in the Park event on Saturday, 3 October, with local dog owners and their four-legged companions making the most of the newly upgraded facility.
Councillor Amber Davis, Portfolio Spokesperson for Community Safety, said it was fantastic to see the community enjoying the improvements.
“The new turf, irrigation and agility equipment have really enhanced the space, creating a more enjoyable place for dogs and their owners to get out, exercise and connect,” Cr Davis said.
“Bark in the Park was a great opportunity to showcase the upgrades while bringing the community together for a fun day out. Responsible pet ownership plays an important role keeping our community safe and events like Bark in the Park give us an opportunity to share that message in a positive and engaging way.”
A highlight of the event was a live working dog demonstration by Renee Spencer, from the popular ABC series Muster Dogs, along with a range of activities for local dog owners and their pets.
Council thanks everyone who attended Bark in the Park, as well as the businesses, stallholders and stakeholders who helped make the event a success.
