Learning and Development Day advances Maranoa’s childcare

Maranoa Regional Council was proud to support a major Early Childhood Education and Care event last Saturday, 12 September.

This event drew in childcare workers from across the Maranoa into the Roma Cultural Centre, delivering a day full of world-class speakers, strategic insights on government initiatives, practical and evidence-based tools to apply to everyday work situations and a chance to network with other childcare workers on a local level.

Mayor Wendy Taylor said development of childcare is crucial to the liveability of the Maranoa.

“To see such a strong turnout on Saturday speaks volumes,” Mayor Taylor said.

“Childcare is so much more than a service; from a social perspective, it helps shape confident, capable and connected children. It supports families, strengthens communities, and creates the foundation for lifelong learning and wellbeing.

“From an economic perspective, quality childcare is also an essential service. It enables parents and carers to participate in the workforce, supports local businesses, and helps communities like ours grow and thrive. When childcare is strong, our whole region is stronger.”
