  • Oversight of all directorates, ensuring alignment with Council’s goals and policies
  • Liaison with elected Council (Mayor & Councillors) — providing advice, reports, briefings
  • Coordination of cross-directorate initiatives, major projects, external stakeholder relations
  • Councillor / Elected Member support, community engagement and communications
  • Roma Saleyards planning, operations and maintenance

As Deputy CEO – Strategic Roads, Airports & Major Projects of Maranoa Regional Council, Cameron's responsibilities include:

  • Strategic oversight, planning and delivery of major infrastructure projects
  • Roads network planning, upgrades, and capital programs
  • Management and operations of Council-owned airports
  • Project development, delivery and contract management for large scale infrastructure
  • Coordination with state/national government agencies on major transport projects
  • Emergency response for infrastructure (e.g. storm damage, natural disasters)

As the Director for Maranoa Regional Council, Brett Exelby responsibilities includes managing the Directorate (a group of departments). For his Directorate and as part of the Executive Leadership Team, Brett is responsible for:

  • Governance, legal services, policy, compliance and local laws
  • Customer Experience management, customer-facing operations, including contact centres, and Library Services across the region
  • Financial services such as budgets, financial planning, accounting, and audits
  • Asset accounting, management and systems
  • Rates, utilities, revenue, debtors and creditors, payroll services
  • ICT / Information & Communications Technology services and GIS
  • Cemetery Management
  • Information management, data governance, records, compliance, 
  • Risk, business improvement and corporate oversight
  • Procurement and stores
  • Facilities, buildings, amenities and structures usage, operations, maintenance and asset lifecycle management
  • Land and property tenure and management
  • Health, Safety, workplace training and wellbeing

The Director leads and manages the Regional Development, Environment & Planning Directorate, working with their management team and staff in delivering responsive service outcomes. For his Directorate and as part of the Executive Leadership Team, Jamie is responsible for:

  • Strategic and statutory planning: regional planning, local planning schemes, development assessments, building & plumbing approvals
  • Economic development, business support, investment attraction
  • Tourism and Visitor Information Centres
  • Environmental health, waste management, environmental compliance
  • Community Safety, Animal Management and Pound operations
  • Rural lands, stock routes, agricultural planning, biosecurity, pest control
  • Sport, recreation, and events, 
  • Museums, galleries and cultural development
  • Regional programs, grants, regional strategy and coordination
  • Environmental planning, sustainable growth, natural resource management

  • Civil infrastructure maintenance and operations for roads, bridges, streetscapes, drainage, and flood mitigation.
  • Parks and open spaces planning, operations and maintenance
  • Water, sewerage, gas, stormwater, reticulation networks planning, operations and maintenance
  • Construction supervision, technical design, approvals
  • Quarries planning, operations and maintenance
  • Local area management
  • Fleet, plant, workshops and equipment services
  • Engineering support
