Yes, that’s right, it’s that time of the year again where Council will be running the annual desexing voucher initiative to coincide with National Desexing Month 2026.

Council stresses the importance of responsible pet ownership to reduce the numbers of unwanted litters and roaming cats and dogs in our region.

There are 100 desexing vouchers valued at $150 available for owners of registered and microchipped cats or dogs.

Need more convincing? Here are our top 5 reasons:

  1. Spaying offers lifelong health benefits to your pet PLUS you don’t need to worry about dealing with the consequences and workload of an unwanted litter – that’s savings on stress and money
  2. You get $150 off – why wouldn’t you take advantage of free money to do something great?
  3. Improved behaviour – who doesn’t want their pet to be behaved?
  4. Desexing reduces your pet’s urge to roam – this means they are less likely to practice their escape-artist skills meaning less cat and dog attacks
  5. You get discounted registration – that’s 50% off!

Keep your eyes peeled for the desexing vouchers release coming out on Wednesday, 1 July.
