Miscamble Street East will be temporarily closed to all traffic during Wednesday and Thursday, 11–12 February 2026, at the intersection with Northern Road.
The closure is required to install new priority pedestrian crossings as part of the Shared Path Upgrade Project, being delivered on behalf of the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
Council acknowledges this temporary closure presents an inconvenience, particularly while Lovell Street is also closed to complete similar works; however the works are required to be delivered concurrently due to the need to coordinate asphalt being supplied from Brisbane.
During the closure, detours will be in place via Arthur Street and George Street West, with traffic signage provided to assist motorists.
To minimise disruption, the project team has delayed the closure of Miscamble Street for as long as practicable and will prioritise reopening the road as soon as works are completed and safe to reopen.
