Roma’s Off-Leash Dog Park Officially Re-Opens

Wagging great times are set to resume, as the Roma Dog Park has officially re-opened.

The park temporarily closed from the 13 April 2026 returns to the community with upgrades, including laying turf and installing irrigation of 1,000m².

These upgrades were implemented thanks to your voice heard through community 
engagement initiatives; an online survey and at the 2025 inaugural Bark in the Park event.

Portfolio for Community Safety, Cr Amber Davis said this upgrade will make the space more user friendly.

“Council is excited to re-open this much-loved facility with improvements requested by the community and tourists alike made,” Cr Davis said.

“These upgrades create a greener, more comfortable environment for dogs and their owners to enjoy, while ensuring better sustainability during the warmer months.

Cr Davis said upgrades won’t stop there, with $17,000 dedicated to implementing agility equipment in the 2026/27 Council Budget.

“This upgrade requested by the community will help dogs and their owners better connect and will help the dogs learn a new skill to show off.

“This is another great example on how Council continues to listen to our community.

“We recognise the great value and importance of our residents voice and work hard as a Council to best provide for the Maranoa to continue creating a region where people want to live, work and play.”
