Maranoa Regional Council is developing a comprehensive Cemeteries Master Plan to guide the long-term management, sustainability and improvement of both operational and historical cemeteries across the region.

To support this work, Council is seeking feedback from community members and cemetery users. The community’s input will help identify key issues, opportunities and priorities related to maintenance, accessibility, infrastructure, wayfinding, amenities and overall site functionality.

The Cemeteries Master Plan aims to ensure that each cemetery continues to meet community needs while aligning with best practice in cemetery design, accessibility, sustainability, record keeping and maintenance.

Furthermore, through the development of the Master Plan, Council is committed to preserving the cultural and historical significance of these important community places and planning responsibly for future generations.

The information collected through this survey will directly inform design considerations and future investment as part of the Maranoa Cemeteries Master Plan.

The Cemeteries Master Plan survey should take approximately 5–10 minutes to complete. While not all questions are mandatory, the more information you provide, the more valuable your feedback will be.

The survey will close Sunday, 8 February 2026 at 10pm. The survey can be accessed by clicking here
