Nominate a local legend!
Published on 01 August 2026
Australia Day nominations are officially open for 2027!
All residents are encouraged to recognise and honour individuals and community organisations that has made a difference in the Maranoa.
Mayor Wendy Taylor encourages every resident to at least nominate one person for an award.
“There are some phenomenal people across the Maranoa who go that extra mile,” Mayor Wendy Taylor said.
“Australia Day is a great time to recognise the contribution we all make, so why not nominate someone who you believe has made an outstanding impact. This is about shining a light and saying thank you to those people who make the Maranoa such a special place to live.
“In the country we all love, from quiet achievers to community leaders, sporting champions to cultural contributors, nominate that someone who goes above and beyond.”
“Not sure if someone is worthy of an award? Talk to our Local Development Officers by calling Council or sending us an email.”
