Maranoa Regional Council is developing a 10-year strategy for its libraries.

As part of this process, Council would like all residents across the region to have the opportunity to help shape the future of your library services. Your ideas and feedback are important to us.

Consultants will be visiting the region in May to speak with residents and stakeholders to hear:

  • what you value from your library and its services
  • how your libraries can better meet the community’s needs
  • ideas for how library services can grow and evolve into the future.

We acknowledge it is not possible to speak to everyone in person and so we invite you to contribute your feedback and ideas through a short questionnaire. Your answers will remain anonymous.  This survey will close on 31 May 2026.

Councillor Meryl Brumpton, Portfolio for Arts and Culture, calls for the community to contribute however they can to the consultation process.

“Our libraries are an important meeting place for our community. They serve as a place for people to come in solace or in groups to learn, engage and access resources.

“We encourage the community to engage in this consultation process in order to have their say on shaping the future of our libraries.”
