As we enter into storm season, it’s important to remember how storms might affect our four-legged friends.

As the ground becomes softer and wet, it is easier for weather-frightened dogs to escape.

As part of your storm-weather process, remember to inspect your yard for any potential escape routes or signs of digging.

If you know there is going to be loud noises, find a spot of comfort and security for your dog. A small, safe space such as a laundry or toilet is ideal. A crate inside the garage or house would be the next best alternative.

If you haven’t already, make sure your dog is registered and your registration details are up-to-date so we can help you track down your best mate in the case they escape.

❗A $31.10 registration* can save you an impound release fee of $160**

*Desexed dog (kept in the town designated area)

** Unregistered dog or cat – 1st offence (Plus registration and microchipping fee)
