Deck the homes with Christmas hampers

‘Tis the season to be jolly as Council begins accepting donations from Monday, 24 November until Monday, 08 December to go toward the annual Maranoa Regional Council Christmas Hamper Appeal.

Requested donations include:

  • Non-perishable food items
  • Pasta and pasta sauce
  • Rice and sauce (stir fry/meal base)
  • Powdered mashed potatoes and gravy
  • Christmas cakes/puddings or other Desserts
  • Sweet biscuits
  • Savoury crackers
  • Long life custard
  • Long life milk (UHT).
  • Long life juice / cordial / soft drink
  • Potato chips
  • Tinned fruit/ vegetables

Mayor Wendy Taylor said this initiative is a heartwarming way for residents to come together and make a positive difference in the lives of others this Christmas. 

“Any donation will be greatly appreciated,” Cr Taylor said.

Non-perishable food donations can be delivered to any of the region’s Council Customer Service Centres or Libraries.

Christmas hampers are available to eligible households within the Maranoa region. These hampers are intended for households in need of support during the festive season.

Nominations for hampers must be made by recognised community organisations, local development officers, or service providers and submitted to Council’s Community Support Officer. Service providers will also be responsible for distributing the hampers to nominated households in December.
