Community Development

Arts & Culture - Developing community capacity and encouraging community engagement with arts and culture so as to address the identified needs and opportunities to enhance the quality of life and wellbeing for residents of the Maranoa region.

Art Galleries & Libraries - Libraries and art galleries are the hub of community arts and culture and also provide a range of services to the entire community such as storytelling, study assistance and arts workshops.

Community Development - Developing community capacity and encouraging community engagement.

Economic Development - Identifying and encouraging actions which facilitate the sustainable development of the Maranoa region's economy and facilitating the provision of support initiatives for existing buisinesses and industry in the interest of maintaining and development of the regional economy.

Sport & Recreation - Developing partnerships to cultivate and facilitate sporting and recreational opportunities to meet the community's needs and aspirations so as to enhance the quality of life and wellbeing for residents of the Maranoa region.

Youth - Working collaboratively with the community and partners to develop and enhance the wellbeing, lifestyle and opportunity for our young people.

Social Services

Aged and Disability Services - Undertaking the operation of Council's aged care facility in accordance with appropriate industry standards.

Community Support Service - The Community Support Service is based at the Roma Neighbourhood Centre and supports individuals, families and communities of the Maranoa Regional Council. The Community Support Service is funded by the Queensland Department of Communities.

Family Support Service - The Family Support Service is based at the Roma Neighbourhood Centre and provides assistance for families with a child, or children, under the age of 18 years. The Family Support Service is funded by the Department of Communities and is auspiced by the Maranoa Regional Council.

Employability - Employability is based at the Roma Neighbourhood Centre. Disability Employment Network Services such as Employability assists people with a disability to gain employment and experience improved lifestyle.

Emergency Relief - This program is jointly funded by the Queensland Government Department of Communities, the Federal Government Department of Family Services and the Maranoa Regional Council and provides some assistance for food, travel, fuel, and medical vouchers when undergoing hardships.

Roma Home Maintenance Service (HACC) - Maranoa Regional Council receives funding provided by both the Australian State and Territories Government to provide subsidised Home Maintenance services to HACC elgibile clients in the Maranoa regional area.

Housing Services - Funding is granted to the Maranoa Regional Council - Maranoa Housing from the Department of Communities for the Supported Accommodation Assistance Program/Crisis Accommodation Program. These funds are provided by both the State and Commonwealth Governments through a bi-lateral agreement, but are administered by the Department of Communities.

Tenant Advice and Advocacy Service - The Tenancy Advice and Advocacy Service (Q) is a free housing information, advice, advocacy and education service for tenants. This service is funded by the Residential Tenancies Authority and the Department of Housing.

Maruma-Li Mari Outreach Service - Maruma-Li Mari Outreach Service is a community legal justice service, advisory and referral centre for victims of family violence providing practical assistance and emotional support to people seeking to deal with the effects of family violence. The Maruma-Li Mari Outreach Service is funded by the Commonwealth Attorney General's Department and is auspiced by Maranoa Regional Council through the Roma Neighbourhood Centre. The service is specifically funded for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Town Planning - Regulate and control development in a consistent and responsible manner that enhances the lifestyle of the Maranoa's community whilst promoting sustainable development.

Building - Undertaking Council's regulatory function in relation to the administration of Building Certification Codes and legislation in a consistent and responsible manner.

Environmental Health - Undertaking Council's regulatory function in relation to the administration of Environmental Health legislation and associated regulations in a consistent and responsible manner.

Rural Services - Administering Council's regulatory function in relation to our natural environment in the interests of protection and responsible management that enhances the rural industry.

Animal Control - Undertaking Council's regulatory function in relation to the keeping and control of animals in a humane, consistent and responsible manner.
