After extensive consultation and review of Council’s community and aged care services, Council resolved on 11 June 2014, to transfer the community and aged care services provided by Council to another provider. These services include:

  • Home Care Packages (CACPS)
  • Home and Community Care (HACC)
  • National Respite for Carers (NRCP)

Council further resolved on 13 August 2014 to continue providing the current services until 30 June 2015, with the services to transfer to a new provider from 1 July 2015.

Throughout this time, Council has been communicating with the relevant government agencies as well as clients, carers and key stakeholders to ensure all care recipients are supported and are well informed of the process and how this will be affecting them in the long-term.

It is important to note that from 1 July 2015 there will be changes to community and aged care services in general due to a national reform.  Further information on the reform can be found on the Australian Government's My Aged Care website.

Council anticipates to be notified of the new service provider in the near future and will advise all clients, carers and key stakeholders as soon as possible.

The Australian Government has established the My Aged Care website to help you navigate the aged care system. The Gateway is part of the Australian Government's changes to the aged care system. You can visit the My Aged Care website or phone the contact centre on 1800 200 422 between 8.00am and 8.00pm on weekdays and between 10.00am and 2.00pm on Saturdays. The My Aged Care phone line is closed on Sundays and national public holidays.
