Top 10 Must Do's

 

1. Stop in at Wallumbilla’s Calico Cottage, which serves as their Visitor Information Centre. Locally produced arts and crafts are on sale, along with refreshments.

2. Wallumbilla’s Heritage Centre, situated beside Calico Cottage, showcases the Shire’s history and heritage.

3. Take a dip, throw in a line or do a little bird watching at Judd’s Lagoon, Yuleba.

4. Follow the track of the Cobb and Co Drive from Yuleba to Surat. Stop along the way to see the corduroys that were used in this drive.

5. Grab your horse and trailer, or simply just come to be a spectator and have some country fun at the annual Wallumbilla Camp draft.

6. Come and Celebrate New Years Eve at Noonga.

7. Stop in at Wallumbilla’s Railway Station and have a look at the memorabilia of the QLD rail disaster that happened on December 1st, 1956, killing 5 people and injuring 100, when the ‘Westlander’ crashed into the ‘Western Mail’.

8. Call into one of the local pubs and have a coldie with the friendly folk of Wallumbilla and Yuleba.

9. 20km south of Yuleba on the Surat road are native wells that were used by the Aboriginals, long before settlement.

10. Just 8km west of Wallumbilla at Pickanjinnie, you will find a monument to an aboriginal legend.
