Water main installation to commence in Roma
Maranoa Regional Council will commence works next week on Monday, 6 January to replace the water main on McDowall Street (between Duke Street and Cottell Street).
External contractors will be undertaking the works, with the project expected to take four weeks to complete (weather permitting).
Councillor David Schefe, Portfolio Chair for Utilities said that works have been scheduled over the school holidays to reduce disruption to the school.
"There have been multiple water main breaks in this area and by replacing the water main with larger pipes it will provide a more reliable service and improve water pressure," Cr Schefe said.
The water main will be installed on the road around the parking area on the northern side of McDowall Street.
Traffic management will be in place for the safety of both the workers and road users. Council asks that you please follow the direction of the traffic controllers and signs during this period.
