Roma to receive further water security with new bore
Construction of a new bore in Roma commenced this week and will provide additional water supply and back-up for Roma.
Councillor David Schefe, Portfolio Chair for Utilities said in January 2019, multiple bores in Roma failed and had to undergo repairs, resulting in water shortages in some pressure zones as the bores could not fill the reservoir quick enough to keep up with demand.
"By constructing this additional bore it will reduce the likelihood of this occurring again," Cr Schefe said.
"The new bore (Bore 20) will be a larger bore, providing a more reliable water source for the town of Roma and will be located in Jackson Street.
"Due to the location of the new bore, it will feed directly into the main town reservoir with no offtakes on the way and will benefit over 50% of the town."
