Potential for isolated flooding in Surat - Residents advised to stay clear of flood water
Due to the large amount of rain the Condamine-Balonne catchment has received over the past week, the water level of the Balonne River is increasing.
Currently there is the chance of isolated flooding in Surat and Council is asking residents to make sure they have an adequate supply of food and water in the case access in and out of Surat is restricted.
Residents are advised to stay clear of flooded streets and roads. Remember – if it's flooded, forget it.
Council is currently monitoring the Balonne River's water levels.
Please plan ahead and check road conditions on Council's Emergency Management Information Dashboard at http://dashboard.maranoa.qld.gov.au/
