Surat water update - Boil water alert lifted in Surat
Maranoa Regional Council advises residents in Surat that the boil water alert has been lifted and residents can now return to drinking and using tap water for all household purposes.
This notice applies to all residents in Surat from Friday, 1 February 2019.
The water has been confirmed safe for all typical uses including drinking, use in food or beverages, personal washing, dishwashing, laundry purposes and flushing toilets.
Council has worked closely with Queensland Health over the past week to confirm this as quickly as possible.
Surat residents are advised to flush out the pipes in their homes by turning on their taps for approximately five minutes.
Residents are asked to share this notice with neighbours and friends.
