Ivy Street remediation works set to commence
Construction of the Ivy Street Stormwater Remediation Works (Charles Street to Arthur Street) is set to commence in the coming week with site mobilisation and vegetation clearing works to occur in the lead up to Christmas (weather permitting).
Works will recommence on Monday, 14 January 2019, and are scheduled to take approximately three months to complete (weather permitting).
The scope of the project includes:
- Construction of a stormwater diversion channel through the adjacent property on the south side of Ivy Street
- An extension of the existing underground stormwater system in Arthur Street to connect to the new diversion channel
- Upgrade of Ivy Street, between Charles Street and Arthur Street, to a 8m wide bitumen sealed pavement
- Reconstruction of the northern table drain and property driveways north of Ivy Street (where required for drainage).
Properties will remain accessible at all times for residents on Ivy Street, although access to driveways may be restricted for short periods. The onsite Project Team will discuss any restrictions with residents in advance to ensure disturbance is minimised where possible. Traffic management will be in place throughout construction to assist residents and motorists around the project works.
Works onsite will be undertaken between 6.30am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday (with limited noise before 7am). Additionally, where required, works may be undertaken on Saturdays between 6.30am and 2pm.
Council will regularly update affected residents on Ivy Street regarding any traffic changes during construction.
