Council to enter negotiations with Australia Pacific LNG Pty Ltd about the future of camps
Following a submission to the State Government’s Coordinator General, Maranoa Regional Council will enter negotiations with Australia Pacific LNG Pty Ltd (APLNG) over the next six months in regards to the future of their temporary camps in the region.
APLNG submitted an application to change a condition of the project in October 2018. The proposed change sought to make two temporary workers’ accommodation facilities in the Maranoa permanent for the duration of the project. The project is expected to be in the Maranoa for approximately 20 years.
Following discussions with the Coordinator General and Council’s submission, Origin’s change application is now on hold to enable negotiations to occur at a local level directly between Council and Origin / APLNG.
A representative of the State Government’s Coordinator General’s Office will also attend the negotiations.
