Congratulations new Regional Arts Development Fund committee members
Maranoa Regional Council has endorsed the applications for three new committee members to join the local (2019) Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) Committee.
Congratulations to Sandra Macdonald, Christine Riddell, and Rosie Bryant. The new committee members will join Councillor Puddy Chandler, Councillor Geoff McMullen, Councillor Wendy Newman, and Lee Galwey to complete the 2019 RADF Committee.
RADF Committee Chair, Councillor Puddy Chandler said the RADF committee is made up of volunteers who have a broad range of experience and expertise in the arts in the Maranoa.
“The committee acts as a focus group for arts and culture in our region and makes recommendations to Council for eligible grant applications for each funding round,” Cr Chandler.
Meet our new members:
Sandy is keen to encourage community connectedness through developing opportunities for local artists. As the secretary of the Roma on Bungil Gallery and a member of the Surat Shutterbugs, Sandy has significant experience with arts in the region.
Chris has been involved in the Roma on Bungil Gallery as an executive member and curator, and is still an active member. Chris was the Horticulture Steward at the Roma Show for 7 years, and is now pursuing other artistic outlets. Chris is interested in all aspects of art in the Maranoa.
Rosie is from Mungallala and has always had a strong interest in cultural pursuits in rural areas, and in encouraging artists to grow and develop. Rosie has developed a technique for making cement-based bird baths, and delivers workshops on these unique artistic creations. Rosie enjoys mosaics and fabric painting.
The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Maranoa Regional Council to support local arts and culture in our Region.
