Council has received funding to host free fitness classes commencing this year as a 10 week program for the Mitchell and surrounding area.
This funding has been secured by Game on Queensland, under the Embracing 2018 Legacy Program for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
The program will start 29 January 2018 with qualified fitness trainer, Katrina Mansfield and includes enhancing stroke correction, aqua aerobics classes, beginner boot camp and a Saturday walking group.
Councillor Peter Flynn, Portfolio Chair for Sport and Recreation said this is a chance for residents to increase fitness levels, be active and try something new.
“These classes are designed for all fitness levels and Council encourages men and women of all ages to come along!” Cr Flynn said.
Free fitness classes will be held at Mitchell Memorial Pool and will run until 24 March 2018.
