Regional Arts Development Fund applications opening on Friday, 8 February 2019

The first round of applications for the 2018-19 Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) will be open on Friday, 8 February 2019 and close Monday, 18 March 2019.

Maranoa Regional Council has an allocation of $25,000 from Arts Queensland to help fund quality art projects.

Councillor Puddy Chandler, RADF Committee Chair said the program invests in local art, groups and organisations living across regional Queensland.

“Council encourages local groups and artists to start planning their projects and apply for the funding. If you have any questions, please contact Sue Sands, Council’s RADF Liaison Officer,” Cr Chandler said.

Queensland Arts Minister Leeanne Enoch said investing in creative and cultural experiences through the Regional Arts Development Fund strengthened regional communities, boosted cultural tourism, and enhanced the quality of life in rural and remote towns and cities.

“RADF is a unique partnership between the Queensland Government and Maranoa Regional Council to support local talent, unite communities and celebrate the arts across the state,” Ms Enoch said.

“The Queensland Government, through Arts Queensland, is contributing $2.08 million in 2018-19 in partnership with 58 councils state wide to help deliver cultural experiences which align with local priorities.”
