Container Refund Scheme information sessions on next week

Maranoa Regional Council will be running sessions to help residents register and receive their unique client number to be able to participate in the Container Refund Scheme.

Residents need to be registered before containers can be dropped off and any refund is received. Council is only a Container Refund Point and will not distribute refunds, funds will be electronically transferred.

Councillor Geoff McMullen, Portfolio Chair for Waste said that residents are encouraged to come along and register and gain a greater understanding of how the scheme works.

“Council will be running two information sessions next week. If you are able to, please bring along your own device as there will be a limited number of computers available,” Cr McMullen said. 

“Council staff and members from the Department of State Development will be on hand to assist you in becoming part of the scheme.”

Sessions will be held on Thursday, 13 December 2018 at the Community Hub in Roma at 9am – 11am and 5.30pm – 6.30pm.

Please ensure you bring your bank details (where you would like the refund to be deposited) and an email address you can access on the day.

Further sessions are planned for other Maranoa towns and dates will be advised in the coming weeks.
