Women across the Maranoa donned their active wear in October, joining Council’s Get Out, Feel Great movement, with more exciting activities continuing in November.
Council received a second round of funding from the Department of Sport and Recreation to host fitness sessions aimed at inspiring women to take up daily physical activity.
Councillor Peter Flynn, Portfolio Chair for Youth, Recreation and Sport, said the Get Out, Feel Great program is receiving a positive response from women of all ages and fitness levels.
“This health and wellbeing initiative has been running for over a month now and lots of residents have been taking advantage of the fantastic range of classes available,” Cr Flynn said.
“Get Out, Feel Great enables locals to establish new friendships and encourages the continual use of fitness services available in all the major centres.”
“We hope participants will share new fitness tips and resources with family and friends to help make the Maranoa a healthier and happier place!”
It’s not too late to join the Get Out, Feel Great program which has something for everyone, including; water aerobics, yoga and general fitness classes.
