General Wellbeing General Wellbeing

Looking to improve your general wellbeing and lifestyle but not sure where to start? The Maranoa region is filled with beautiful outdoor spaces and Be Healthy & Safe Maranoa is involved in a range of activities and programs that promote wellness.  Being healthy isn’t all about diet and exercise, we also need to think about and look after our social, emotional and mental health.

Community Gardens

Community gardens are a place for learning, getting healthy and healing the environment, while relaxing and having a good time.  Community gardens aim to engage and inspire people to grow, eat and share fresh produce; they are a place for interested people who don’t have access to their own garden space or who want to share their passion for gardening with others.  Community gardens provide a place for people to connect and be part of their community.

There are established community gardens in Injune, Jackson, Roma and Yuleba. Be Healthy Maranoa plays an advisory and support role for these gardens and encourages locals to get involved.

Parks, Spaces and Walking Trails

The walkways, bike paths and trails which traverse our towns and the broader region afford residents and visitors the opportunity to exercise safely and interact socially.

Council has a network of parks and multi-use recreation trails that provide quality recreational experiences and access to open space destinations.  Whether you're looking for adventure or interested in more leisurely pursuits, the natural spaces in the Maranoa offer beautiful countryside landscapes for your enjoyment!
