DUKE STREET SOUTH RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
CLOSURE OF RAGLAN STREET ENTRANCE TO DUKE STREET SOUTH
As part of the Duke Street South (Roma Southern Road) Project, Council will be closing the Raglan Street (Warrego Highway) entrance to Duke Street South as of today, 21 March 2019.
The street will remain open to ‘Local Traffic Only’ via the southern end of the project (via Corfe Road), to enable local businesses to continue operating during the construction phase of the works.
All traffic, including cyclists and pedestrians, will be required to enter the work area via the Duke Street South and Corfe Road intersection by using either Currey Street or Spencer Street South as a road detour.
Variable message signs, traffic control measures and advanced warning signs will be in place to advise motorists of the closure. Council will monitor these controls in collaboration with the affected businesses to help, where possible, reduce any inconvenience.
Council would like to remind customers, residents and delivery drivers that businesses will continue to operate as normal and will remain accessible at all times.
This closure will remain in place for the duration of the project (approximately three months, weather permitting).
Council thanks businesses, customers and motorists for their patience and cooperation while these works are underway.
