BOIL WATER ALERT LIFTED IN MUCKADILLA
Maranoa Regional Council advises residents of Muckadilla that tap water supply is now safe to consume.
This notice applies to Muckadilla residents from Friday, 4 May 2018.
There is no longer a public health concern over the quality of drinking water, and it is now considered safe for all typical uses including drinking, use in food or beverages, personal washing, dishwashing, laundry purposes and flushing toilets.
Following the structural failure of the town’s water reservoir, Council issued a precautionary boil water alert as disinfection was offline. Council has worked closely with the Water Supply Regulator and Queensland Health over the past two weeks to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. Replacement water tanks have now been installed, and disinfection of the water supply has been restored. Both agencies will continue to closely monitor the situation.
Council has undertaken purging of the town’s water mains and Muckadilla residents are advised to flush out all pipes in their homes by turning on taps and running water for approximately 5 minutes.
Residents are asked to share this notice with neighbours and friends.
