About the Community Support Service
The Community Support Service is based at the Roma Neighbourhood Centre and supports Individuals, Families and Communities of the Maranoa Regional Council. The Community Support Service is funded by the Queeensland Department of Communities and operates with the following goals in mind.
Our Goals
- Community and industry sectors are better informed about issues affecting individuals, families and community groups.
- Communities have increased opportunities and capacity to participate in the development of effective community service responses.
- Appropriate suport services are delivered to meet the needs of individuals, families and community groups.
The Community Support Service provides:
- Information and support wth regard to services available in Roma and surrounding communities.
- Support and referral to appropriate services in the community.
- Information and education opportunities on relevant issues to help you gain empowerment and better equip you with skills and knowledge to face issues and grow individually, in the family group and in the community.
- Promotion of links with community groups, individuals, families, communities, government agencies and services in Roma and surrounding district.
- Recognition and analysis of community issues and development of strategies to meet these needs.
- Client Advocacy in line with identified needs.
- A resource for funding infomration available to individuals and community groups.

- That personal information remains confidential.
- To be asked for written consent before any information regarding your particulars are discussed with any referral agency / worker.
The CSS staff are committed to providing support and assistance to clients with the highest standard of consideration and care. More details about the service may be obtained by asking staff for further information. If you have a complaint, use the complaint process, as explained in the "Client Grievance Policy and Procedures" brouchure available at Reception for a timely solution to the issue.
